What we call a security check is a pentest
Security check is our name for it; technically it is a penetration test: a realistic attack on your website, application or IT, with your permission. It finds what can really be exploited, before someone else does.
Four questions in focus
- Which attack surfaces can be reached from outside?
- How far could an attacker get in an emergency?
- Which data or systems could be affected?
- Which risks should be dealt with first?
03Process
How it works
Request You get in touch and name the website, application or infrastructure.
Agree We agree on the target and scope with you. We only test what you authorise.
Test We carry out the penetration test – confidentially.
Results You receive the results with recommendations. If you wish, we help fix the issues.
What you get
- A structured assessment of your security level
- Clear, actionable recommendations
- Transparent and without obligation: you decide on further measures
- On request, help with remediation, prioritised and practical
04Context
“We're too small” is not a security measure.
Most attacks are not targeted. Automated systems scan the internet for open ports, outdated software and weak credentials, and strike wherever they find something. Size and industry do not matter.
A penetration test is not a sign of mistrust but a tool of responsible IT security strategy.
05FAQ
Answered briefly
What companies ask us most often before the first conversation.
Is the security check really free of charge?
Yes. We currently offer free pentests for websites, web applications, servers and IT infrastructure – confidential, without obligation and with clear results.
What exactly is tested?
Only what you approve. We agree the goal and scope with you beforehand – for example your website, a customer portal or a mail server – and check which attack surfaces are reachable from outside and how far an attacker could get.
How does this differ from the Cyber Risk Check?
The security check is a technical test of your systems by us. The Cyber Risk Check is a questionnaire for a first assessment without technical testing; it is available at cybersecurity.limebyte.de.
Who may request the check?
Only someone authorised to have the named systems tested – usually the owner, management or the responsible IT department. Without that confirmation we are not allowed to test.
Am I obliged to anything afterwards?
No. You receive the results with recommendations and decide for yourself whether and how to act. On request we help with remediation.

The cyber risk check is a different thing: a questionnaire for a first assessment, without a technical test. It lives on our own security site, cybersecurity.limebyte.de – the address changes, the company does not. cybersecurity.limebyte.de
